Plants do not simply take from soil — they also feed it. Through root exudates, carbon moves below ground supporting microorganisms. Our aim is a functioning ecosystem in which carbon is continually captured, exchanged, stored and recycled.
Fine fungal threads form networks of mycelium throughout healthy soils. Some form mycorrhizal relationships with plants, exchanging soil resources for carbon. Repeated intensive disturbance destroys these networks — we work to protect them.
Bacteria exist in extraordinary abundance within healthy soils, participating in decomposition, nutrient transformation and relationships with plant roots. Legumes harness their ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen — one of the most valuable services in regenerative agriculture.
Earthworms are among our favourite indicators of soil recovery. Their abundance tells us that food, moisture, oxygen and biological activity are all present simultaneously. They are messengers as much as organisms.
