Animals can regenerate or degrade land depending upon how they are managed. Stocking pressure, duration, season, soil condition and recovery all matter. Overgrazing removes too much plant material and weakens roots. Under-management in a fire landscape can allow excessive vegetation to accumulate.
Our task is to find the changing balance between the two.
Animals should be moved and managed so vegetation has sufficient opportunity to recover. Their natural behaviour should be expressed wherever possible, with appropriate food, clean water, shelter and space.
